C-Squared Productions was founded by Dr. AD Coffee, a chef, baker, food scientist, artist and educator. Dr. Coffee earned her bachelors of science in food service management from Johnson & Wales University and is a certified baker from the American Institute of Baking. She earned her Ph.D in Food Science and Technology from Clemson University. Now retired, Dr. Coffee enjoys sourcing new produce for C-Squared productions,  photography, and painting.

Our Motivation

“We are what we eat!” As an educator, Dr. Coffee championed ideas around farm to table. She knew that finding good sources of healthy food was not only hard, but confusing. Many people struggle with understanding nutrition labels, and even more do not bother to read them. Our freeze-dried foods are designed to close the gap between in-season produce from local farms and the consumer. Our goal is creating an in-season experience any time of the year, even when it's out of season. 


We've focused on created long-lasting healthy food options, with concentrated flavor and no additives. We kept the labeling simple so people understand what they are eating. Our serving sizes are single serve so that it is easier to consume the recommended USDA serving of raw fruits and veggies. Our mission is as simple as our food - helping people eat better.

Freeze Drying vs. Dehydration

The two are actually quite similar. Freeze-drying is a type of dehydration that removes more moisture while having less of an impact on the flavor. When freeze-dried, food is frozen then placed in a strong vacuum. The water then sublimates; that is, it turns straight from ice into vapors.

Freeze drying is the best way to create a high-quality dehydrated product that preserves the appearance, color, taste, and flavor of its original form. In terms of nutrients, some vital compounds, such as anthocyanins, remain in the food after the freeze-drying process.  We recommend eating an entire serving of our freeze-dried produce to enjoy the nutritional benefits of freeze-dried foods.

Dr. Coffee’s background in culinary arts means sacrificing flavor was never an option. Whenever possible, our fruit is sourced locally while in season from family farms and processed. Freeze-drying is the best way to preserve fruits and vegetables, so they taste as good as they did when they were first picked. This allows us to offer a nutrient dense food with a  “fresh-picked” flavor.  It also makes it possible for us to deliver fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables nationwide for you to enjoy at your convenience.
